New obsession, perhaps?

  • Music: "Wonderwall," by Oasis. How appropriate, hmm?

Dear Friends,

A few weeks ago, on my newest addition to my blog family, "Charlotte's Quotes and Ramblings," I quoted my favorite Oasis song, "Wonderwall." (If you're not familiar with the band Oasis, don't feel stupid. It's an indie band, and most people are not in fact familiar with them. Which I find quite a shame, considering they are one of my favorite bands of all-time.) Anyway, the lyrics I quoted from "Wonderwall" are as follows:

By now, you should have, somehow, realized what you gotta do.

Well, I'm not even sure what these lyrics mean, but I somehow found some sort of relevance in them. Well, today, I would like to quote the same Oasis song, "Wonderwall," with a few lyrics from the second verse that are quite similar to the ones in the first, but have an entirely different meaning.

So, without further ah-dude, as little Riley Maxwell would say, today's quote from the song "Wonderwall" by Oasis are as follows:

By now, you should have, somehow, realize what you're not to do.

Now, do I have any idea what Liam Gallagher is singing about when he sings "Wonderwall"? No, I have no idea. But these lyrics have always seemed so true to me. Don't we all do things that we shouldn't do? I sure do. But the thing that makes these lyrics relevant to me is that, no matter how many times we do something "we're not to do" we always seem to end up doing it again. So what I get from this is, when will we all "somehow, realize what we're not to do"?

So those are my thoughts for today.

Take care.

Charlotte
